Jordan Rhodes gives Blackburn Rovers victory over Yeovil Town

Blackburn Rovers record a 1-0 win over Yeovil Town at Huish Park.

Blackburn Rovers won back-to-back games for the first time since the start of October after they beat Yeovil Town at Huish Park.

A promising start for Blackburn saw Jason Lowe and Tom Cairney force Marek Stech into a number of good saves early on.

David Dunn and Ben Marshall then came close in a period of dominance for the visitors.

Cairney delivered an inviting ball into the box after good work from Marshall, but none of the Rovers players could stretch far enough to get on the end of it.

Yeovil, for the most part, struggled to created chances. Joel Grant centred the ball after good work on the right but that was as close as Yeovil came to scoring in the half.

They failed to register a single shot on target before the break, but manager Gary Johnson would have been pleased with their response after half-time.

Ishmael Miller almost nicked a goal for Yeovil when his cross-shot was almost turned into his own net by Scott Dann, and John Lundstram forced a good save from Simon Eastwood following a long-range drive.

But their good work was undone when Jordan Rhodes curled past Stech and into the top corner to open the scoring for Rovers after an hour played.

Joe Ralls then came close with a curler of his own from 25 yards but his effort crashed against the post.

Blackburn subsequently saw off the rest of the game to earn only their second win in the league away from home this season.
