Heikki Kovalainen has said that he believes that Caterham should be able to beat rivals Marussia at the Spanish Grand Prix.
Marussia have had the better results of the two back-markers in the first four races of the 2013 Formula 1 season, but Caterham are due to bring an upgrade to the first of the European races next weekend.
The Finn, who recently rejoined the team as a test driver, told Sky Sports News: "Of course things have changed, tyres have changed, the setup has changed as a result and mainly because of these two things the car has become a bit more difficult to drive.
"On the other hand I could feel there was more we could use in this car and I felt that after driving the car we should be able to beat Marussia and now with the updates coming we should be in a position to beat them."
Caterham's highest finish so far this season is 14th.
