Kimi Raikkonen has insisted that Ferrari made the right calls in the Bahrain Grand Prix but has conceded that he was disappointed to narrowly miss out on a potential victory.
The Finn finished three seconds behind winner Lewis Hamilton, but was left to rue what could have been as he struggled in the middle part of the race on medium tyres, which allowed the Mercedes driver to build up a sizeable lead before Raikkonen switched to the softer compound.
"We did more or less the maximum, but of course finishing second is disappointing, but you have to be happy with the points," Raikkonen told Sky Sports News.
"I think we did the right calls and the right tyres. The pit-stops were good so we just have to get higher up at the start of the race.
"I think we have the pace more or less to follow the Mercedes, but if you get in a fight with them you lose the first car a lot. We have to improve a little bit everywhere."
Raikkonen is fourth in the world championship standings following his second-placed finish.
