Sebastian Vettel, once rumoured for a possible return to Formula 1 or Le Mans, has revealed a surprising new venture—going back to school.

While Max Verstappen celebrated his fourth world championship in Las Vegas, fellow quadruple world champion Vettel attended an awards ceremony in Braunschweig, Germany, where he shared his future plans.

"I am actually going to school," the four-time world champion told RTL with a smile. "I am doing an apprenticeship in agriculture."

When asked if he plans to become a fully-qualified farmer, Vettel clarified: "Not quite. It is basically a condensed form of it. After that, I can run my own business.

"This area fascinates me," he added. The former Ferrari and Aston Martin driver, who lives with his wife and three children on a farmhouse in Switzerland, has long been known for his interest in nature, sustainability, and the environment.

"I find it extremely exciting when it comes to the future of agriculture," Vettel explained.

His training, he noted, is not full-time. "With the three kids, there is enough to do anyway. My life is much quieter than it used to be. I don't travel as much anymore."

Vettel has also taken an interest in politics and expressed support for Green Party candidate Robert Habeck in Germany's upcoming snap federal election in early 2025.

"I believe he has a very healthy worldview," Vettel said. "He is trying to make Germany better and is really motivated to do so. As always, when you try to do everything right or make everything better, you don't always succeed. I think that's human. But I think we should look to the future."

Regarding US president-elect Donald Trump, Vettel didn't hold back: "I think he is a bad person."

As for a potential return to motorsport, Vettel ruled out a Formula 1 comeback but left the door open for other opportunities. "I'm not returning to Formula 1," he admitted. "But Le Mans could be an option."
