Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr wins the Singapore Grand Prix, ending Red Bull's dominant streak throughout the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz Jr has won Sunday's Singapore Grand Prix, holding onto his lead in a thrilling finish.

Throughout the 2023 season, Red Bull have won each Grand Prix, Max Verstappen prevailing in 12 of the 14 races.

However, the Championship leader and Sergio Perez were never a factor in Singapore, with Sainz Jr largely at the front of the pack throughout the race.

Last time out in Italy, Sainz Jr secured his first podium of the campaign, and his victory in Marina Bay was his first success since last year's British Grand Prix.

Much of the drama came behind him, with McLaren's Lando Norris and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton securing second and third place respectively.

Just 1.269 seconds separated the front three, an order which changed during the final corners as George Russell put his Mercedes into the wall when trying to push Norris on quickly-deteriorating tyres.

Verstappen had to settle for fifth spot despite coming within less than a second to overtaking Charles Leclerc on the final lap.

The remainder of the top 10 was well adrift of the top five, with Alpine's Pierre Gasly earning a respectable sixth ahead of Oscar Piastri.

Perez was eighth ahead of the impressive Liam Lawson in the AlphaTauri, while Haas driver Kevin Magnussen clung on to the final points-scoring spot.
