Bob Fernley: 'No long-term design fault at Force India'

Force India cars are safe despite two high-profile crashes at the Hungarian Grand Prix, according to deputy team principal Bob Fernley.

Force India deputy team principal Bob Fernley has insisted that there will be no repeat of the Hungarian Grand Prix, where both his drivers suffered huge accidents as a result of car failures.

Sergio Perez's car had a suspension failure which caused it to slam into a wall and flip over, while Nico Hulkenberg's front wing collapsed under the car during the race, sending him into the barriers.

Fernley told Autosport: "Reliability and design integrity are two of the key strengths of Force India, and I don't think that has been compromised. It's just unfortunate it was a weekend when we had a couple of incidents that were high profile."

The next race takes place in Belgium in three weeks' time.
