Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen set the fastest time in the second practice ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix with a time of 1:34.154.
Raikkonen's lap had some mistakes, suggesting that he could have gone faster than the three tenths he was ahead of Mark Webber's Red Bull, who set 1:34.184.
The second Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel was third fastest with a time of 1:34.282 and Fernando Alonso's Ferrari rounded off the top four with 1:34.310.
Paul di Resta of Force India in fifth was the fastest of the British drivers, his 1:34.543 comfortably quicker than the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton in 10th with 1:34.976.
