Kevin Magnussen confirmed as Jolyon Palmer's drive partner at Renault

Former McLaren driver Kevin Magnussen will partner Jolyon Palmer for Renault in the 2016 Formula 1 season.

Renault have confirmed that Kevin Magnussen will partner Jolyon Palmer for the team in the 2016 Formula 1 campaign.

The 23-year-old left McLaren in October 2015 after losing his seat last season to former Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso.

The Dane, who worked as a test and reserve driver in the previous season, was officially unveiled as Renault's driver on Wednesday.

Magnussen will replace Pastor Maldonado, whose contract has been terminated after financial backing from Venezuela's national oil company PDVSA came to an end.
