Report: Manor Marussia in doubt for Melbourne due to engine data issue

Manor Marussia may be unable to compete at the Australian Grand Prix due to an engine data issue.

Manor Marrusia's place at the season opener this weekend is in doubt, according to reports.

Pitpass.com says that engine data the team is currently using has been deemed useless, and that the data used last season was wiped when the Marussia team folded last year.

Ferrari are currently thought to have the data available, but are unwilling to give it to Manor Marussia due to debts owed to them from last season.

"This team has worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks to build a car compliant with the current regulations," said Manor chief executive Graeme Lowdon.

"As you can appreciate we have had to overcome numerous hurdles, and we still face others given the complexities involved."

On Monday, Manor confirmed that Roberto Mehri will drive alongside Will Stevens.
