McLaren have revealed that Fernando Alonso will be working in their simulator in a bid to be ready for the Malaysian Grand Prix later this month.
The two-time world champion skipped the season-opening Australian Grand Prix amid concerns that he could suffer a recurrence of a concussion that he sustained in a pre-season testing crash.
A spokesman for the team told BBC Sport: "We have a programme to help Fernando back to racing and he plans to be in a simulator."
McLaren are yet to determine the cause of last month's accident in Barcelona.
