The Bahrain state wealth fund Muntalakat has finalized the purchase of a 100% stake in McLaren, with Zak Brown set to maintain his leadership role within the McLaren team.

The Bahrain state wealth fund Muntalakat has finalized the purchase of a 100% stake in McLaren, with Zak Brown set to maintain his leadership role within the McLaren team.

The McLaren Group, encompassing the renowned Woking-based Formula 1 squad, its automotive division, and other ventures, has officially announced that Bahrain has taken over "full ownership of the share capital of the Group".

Before this announcement was made, Zak Brown, the CEO of McLaren's Formula 1 team, had already committed to extending his tenure in the role until the year 2030.

"It's a privilege to work alongside the talented men and women across McLaren Racing's different race series," expressed Brown.
