Sebastian Vettel takes full advantage of a retirement from Lewis Hamilton to win the Singapore Grand Prix.

Two-time world champion Sebastian Vettel took top spot from this afternoon's Singapore Grand Prix.

The German trailed McLaren's Lewis Hamilton at the start of the race after the British driver claimed pole position during yesterday's qualifying session.

However, a gearbox failure on lap 23 forced Hamilton to retire from the race.

Vettel took full advantage to claim maximum points, while Hamilton's teammate and compatriot Jenson Button finished in second spot.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, who currently tops the standings, completed the podium.
