Lewis Hamilton recorded the fastest time in third practice, edging out Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Williams's Valtteri Bottas.
Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg had to watch on after suffering a gearbox problem, leaving the German without a time set in practice three.
Williams's Felipe Massa finished the practice in fourth as Jenson Button finished just behind Brazilian in fifth.
Sebastian Vettel completed the top six in his Red Bull, going quicker than Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and teammate Daniel Ricciardo.
