Nico Rosberg has secured pole position at his third consecutive race, beating Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber looked quick in the third part of qualifying, but a strong finish by the Silver Arrows ensured a front-row lockout for Mercedes.
Light rain led to tricky conditions for the drivers, with Force India's Paul di Resta getting knocked out in the first session, while Giedo van der Garde became the first Caterham driver to make it into Q2 this season.
Ferrari's Felipe Massa was unable to take part in the session, having crashed heavily in the third practice session earlier today, giving his mechanics too much to repair.
The track dried up during the middle part of the session, allowing the teams to switch from intermediate to slick tyres, allowing Toro Rosso's Jean-Eric Vergne to progress to Q3 for the first time in his career.
