Lewis Hamilton is hoping that the upgrade package brought to the Spanish Grand Prix by Mercedes will maintain his fight for the world championship.

Lewis Hamilton has said that he is hoping that his Mercedes car can continue to improve over the weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Like every other team on the grid, Mercedes have brought an upgrade package to Barcelona. The German team are looking to boost their overall speed during the race.

Hamilton, who finished 0.332s behind Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and sixth on the timesheet, said: "Yesterday was okay. It wasn't the greatest of days, not the most exciting.

"It's one where we've learned, but there's still a lot to understand, such as where we can improve with the balance."

Qualifying takes place at 1pm today and you can follow live updates right here on Sports Mole from 12.30pm.
