Michael Andretti has said that he hopes Fernando Alonso makes the switch to Indycar for 2019.
The Spaniard is quitting F1 at the end of the year, but it is not yet known how he will divide his time between Le Mans, Indycar and other racing projects next year.
Alonso tested an Andretti Indycar at the Barber road circuit in Alabama on Wednesday and the American now hopes that it will convince him to sign up for 2019.
"We are prepared to have a team of five cars," Andretti is quoted as saying by Spain's Diario Sport. "I would love to work with him again. We'll see what happens.
"I think he has not made his decision yet, but I hope he enjoys his time in the car."
Two-time F1 champion Alonso is expected to bow out of the sport in Abu Dhabi at the end of November.
