British racer Jenson Button is adamant that Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel can be beaten as long as the McLaren drivers continue to put pressure on him.
The world champion currently sits comfortably at the top of the driver’s rankings, but Button is confident that he and his McLaren teammates can stop the German from further success.
"The important thing is to not let Seb get a sniff of a win and then it starts becoming worrying,” The Guardian quotes Button as saying. “If you go a few races without winning it becomes difficult and he hasn't won for the last three races.
"If we don't let him have a sniff over the next few it will start hurting and we will see how he reacts. He's an intelligent driver but it can still hurt. We beat him in the last race, which made a difference.
"I'm not into mind games. The only way to beat him is to consistently beat him. That's the only way to knock his confidence. But we've got to keep doing it."
The 31-year-old ended victorious in Hungary while his British teammate Lewis Hamilton came first in Germany earlier this summer.
