Logan Sargeant is likely the next Formula 1 driver to transition to America's premier open-wheeler series, Indycar.

The Formula 1 community is virtually in agreement that the underperforming 23-year-old from Florida will probably be replaced by the likes of Carlos Sainz, Valtteri Bottas, or newcomer Kimi Antonelli in 2025.

Additionally, motorsport journalist and author Jeroen Demmendaal mentioned he has learned from Indycar sources that Sargeant will "most likely" find himself competing in the American series next year.

"A formal announcement should come in July, before the summer break," he suggested.

Should he move, Sargeant will find himself in the company of former F1 drivers such as Marcus Ericsson, Alexander Rossi, Romain Grosjean, Takuma Sato, among other prominent figures in the Indycar series.

He experienced a tough outing in Barcelona, even after announcing that his car was upgraded to the complete Alex Albon specification for the first time this season.

"Unfortunately, the cars weren't the same spec in the end," Sargeant admitted on Sunday. "The floors that we brought are underperforming which is a shame."

"It's not great for me or the team and none of us want to be in this position," he continued. "We'll keep fighting no matter the situation."
