World champion Max Verstappen has secured pole for Sunday's Mexican Grand Prix as he looks to continue his dominance in 2022.
The Red Bull driver has already been crowned world champion for the second successive year and has 13 Grand Prix victories to his name.
The Dutchman has now put himself in prime position to make it 14 on Sunday by comfortably finishing ahead of the Mercedes duo of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Russell had been pushing to sit at the top of the leaderboard in Q3 but the British driver made an error during the closing stages of his final hot lap.
Nevertheless, Russell and his compatriot Hamilton can be pleased with their respective showings as they edged home favourite Sergio Perez down to fourth.
Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr will start in fifth place with Alfa Romeo's Valtteri Bottas joining the Spaniard on the third row of the grid.
Charles Leclerc, who currently holds a two-point advantage in second spot in the standings, could only qualify in seventh, with McLaren's Lando Norris in eighth.
Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon - both of Alpine - completed the top 10, but Aston Martin's Sebastian Vettel was down in 17th position.
