Lewis Hamilton wins Singapore Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton has won the Singapore Grand Prix to open up a 28-point lead at the top of the standings after Sebastian Vettel crashed out just one lap in.

Starting in pole, Vettel was out almost instantly due to a start-line crash that also eliminated Max Verstappen and teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

Hamilton duly took the lead and remained there throughout what was a dangerous, rain-affected race, with Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo finishing three seconds ahead of Hamilton's teammate Valtteri Bottas for second place on the podium.

The result means that Hamilton now has a healthy - and potentially decisive - advantage over Vettel in the driver standings with just six races of the season remaining.
