Lee Westwood insists that he knows what must be done to win the Open Championship.

Lee Westwood has insisted that he knows what he must do in the fourth round of the Open Championship in order to win his maiden Major title.

Westwood took the overall lead by two shots on day three following a good round and a poor one from Tiger Woods with Hunter Mahan, Westwood's partner for Sunday, level with Woods on -1.

"I know what to expect tomorrow," Sky Sports News quotes Westwood as saying. "I know what to do. I know what it takes. It's just a case of believing you are good enough to win.

"When you analyse it, you don't want to say it, but tomorrow is just another 18 holes. I'm playing well and putting well and there's no reason why I can't carry on.

"I have had lots of chances. I could have won four (majors) with the right things going my way. They are the things you feed off. You try to learn from the things you did wrong and put them into practice."

Mahan's round of 68 put him in contention on Saturday.
