Luke Donald has been named the PGA of America player of the year after his 2011 campaign.
The world number one secured his place at the top of the tour's money list with victory at the Disney Classic in Florida yesterday.
Donald was also given the Vardon Trophy, which is awarded to the player with the lowest scoring average.
The Briton, who also won the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in February, performed consistently throughout the season, climbing to the top of the world rankings.
The 33-year-old is now aiming to become the first player to top the money list on both the American and European tours.
