Luke Donald has revealed that he is not too disappointed to have lost the world number one ranking.
The 34-year-old was replaced at the summit by Rory McIlroy on Sunday following the Irishman's win at the Honda Classic.
Despite slipping down to second spot, Donald believes that the standings are of a bigger concern to journalists than to the players.
"It's still nice to be number one, don't get me wrong," said Donald. "But when Tiger [Woods] was number one no-one really talked about the world rankings much.
"I'm not sure that the players are quite as concerned with it as maybe [the media] or the fans at least.
"I try not to get too wrapped up in it."
Donald will return to action in Miami last this week.
