Graeme McDowell has revealed his eagerness to challenge at the French Open as he bids to win the event for the third successive year.
The Northern Irishman would become just the sixth player to claim a hat-trick of European Tour titles in the same event and the first to win the French Open three times in a row in 77 years.
"Having a chance to win a tournament three times in a row is very special," McDowell, who was eight shots behind heading into the final round before his win last year, told reporters.
"I've always enjoyed this golf course, right back in the early days when I would come here
"The two wins were obviously very different. You always like to win a tournament, as opposed to be given it to a certain extent. So from that point of view, I guess 2013 was a bit more special than 2014."
McDowell has only recorded one top-10 finish this year.
