Golf legend Jack Nicklaus has backed Tiger Woods to regain the form that has won him 18 major championships in his career.
The 35-year-old has had a tumultuous couple of years after revelations about his private life came to light in the media.
The former world number one hasn't won any silverware since November 2009 and has also been plagued with injuries.
Despite slipping down to 46th in the world rankings, Nicklaus is confident that Woods remains the "most talented" pro golfer currently playing.
"Tiger has a great work ethic, he's a great competitor, the most talented kid on the planet right now," Nicklaus said. "He's not going to go away."
The American is waiting to hear if US captain Fred Couples will pick him as a wildcard for the Presidents Cup in Australia in two months' time.
"How could you not pick him?" Nicklaus added. "I mean he's Tiger Woods, he's the best player in the game. He may not be playing his best today, but he's still Tiger Woods."
Woods is scheduled to play in the Frys.com Open held in California from October 6 to October 9.
