Jason Day has confirmed that he will miss this week's Travelers Championship in Connecticut after battling vertigo at the US Open.
The Australian almost withdrew from the tournament at Chambers Bay after illness saw him collapse late in his second round, and despite recovering to finish five shots behind winner Jordan Spieth, Day has decided against visiting TPC River Highlands.
Doctors have advised the 27-year-old to take a break this week to ensure that he returns to 100% as soon as possible, potentially returning at the Greenbrier Classic, which begins next Thursday.
Vertigo symptoms were reported to be behind Day's decision to withdraw from the Bridgestone Invitational last summer.
