Kaymer: 'Winless 2015 down to lack of practice'

Double Major champion Martin Kaymer has conceded that his winless 2015 campaign so far has been down to the fact that he has "practised less".

In 2014 the German won the US Open and the Players Championship, as well as being part of the European team that defeated their American counterparts at the Ryder Cup.

On reflection, the 30-year-old admitted that his enjoyment of those triumphs has hampered his performances over the last few months.

"I practised less. Last year was a very special year and for me it's very important that if you have big wins that you enjoy the wins, so they have a meaning to you," he told reporters.

"Some say it's right, some say it's wrong. For me, it's the best way to enjoy the wins and to motivate myself for new goals."

Kaymer is due to compete at the BMW Masters in Shanghai later this week.
