American rookie Scott Langley has stormed to the top of the leaderboard after the first round of the Hawaiian Open courtesy of an eight-under 62.
The 23-year-old shot six birdies at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu and an impressive eagle on a five-par hole on the ninth.
Langley had a bogey-free round while fellow rookie Russell Henley finished the course in second place, one shot behind his competitor after bogeying the 11th hole and securing a seven-under 63.
Scott Piercy started off strongly but finished outside of the top two after making six birdie putts and claiming a six-under 64.
Piercy sits in joint-third place with Tim Clark.
