Luke List has won the Farmers Insurance Open in California, edging out Will Zalatoris to win his first PGA Tour title.
American compatriot Zalatoris had been favourite to end his own wait for a maiden crown, even with List posting a final-round 66 to set the clubhouse lead.
However, having required a birdie on the last to secure victory, Zalatoris's eight-and-a-half foot putt lacked the pace that was needed, forcing him into a showdown with List.
While both players found the bunker with their tee shots on the first playoff hole, List's lie was far superior, and he was able to record a birdie with Zalatoris only managing a par.
World number one Jon Rahm, Cameron Tringale and Jason Day shared third position, while England's Justin Rose and Aaron Rai were among five players to earn a share of sixth spot.
The latter had been in the final group but three early bogeys left him playing catch-up for the remainder of the round, a closing effort of 72 being far more impressive than it looks at first glance.
