Former US Open champion Graeme McDowell has vowed that he will "be back" after missing the cut at the Alstom Open de France, a tournament he won the last two years.
McDowell shot a seven-over-par second round of 78 earlier today that included no birdies and two double bogeys to miss the cut by four shots.
"I've got to get back to basics and try to clear the mind," McDowell told Sky Sports News at Le Golf National.
"I've been working too hard on trying to get the technique fixed and been making it worse. I know it's in there; you take the rough with the smooth and it's been a great three or four years. I will dig this out and I'll be back."
The Northern Irishman's only top-10 finish on the European Tour this season came in the Dubai Desert Classic back on February 1.
Victor Dubuisson, Rafael Cabrera-Bello and Martin Kaymer share the halfway lead in Paris.
