World number one Rory McIlroy has had a stuttered start to his campaign in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, as he finished his opening round three-over-par.
The Northern Irishman started off well by snatching a birdie on the second hole but slumped after scoring a double bogey on a par-four third hole.
McIlroy tried to steady his game by keeping on level par until the eighth hole but another bogey and double bogey cancelled out his birdie on the back nine to finish a disappointing round.
World number two Tiger Woods completed his opening round on level par, while Welshman Jamie Donaldson currently sits at the top of the leaderboard with a five-under 67.
