PGA Tour releases statement
In a statement on Saturday evening, PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said: "We were devastated to learn – and are heartbroken to share – that PGA TOUR player Grayson Murray passed away this morning.
"I am at a loss for words. The PGA TOUR is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and pray for comfort for his loved ones.
"I reached out to Grayson's parents to offer our deepest condolences, and during that conversation, they asked that we continue with tournament play.
"They were adamant that Grayson would want us to do so. As difficult as it will be, we want to respect their wishes."
No further details have been provided at the present time, with Monahan now en route to the ongoing tournament, which is being played in Fort Worth, Texas.

Who was Grayson Murray?
Murray has spent time on and off the PGA Tour, his two tournament wins at the Barbasol Championship and Sony Open In Hawaii coming seven years apart.
On both occasions, the successes catapulted the American into the top 100 of the World Rankings, with his latest success in January moving him up to a career-high 46th place.
While Murray's best performance after that win was a tied-10th at the Wells Fargo Championship earlier this month, he was also able to make appearances at the Masters and US PGA Championship over the past six weeks.
A 51st-placed finish was posted at Augusta and a share of 43th came at last week's US PGA at Valhalla. He would make the cut in four of his five outings at major tournaments.
