Ian Poulter has revealed that he is confident of being in contention to triumph at the British Masters at the weekend.
A one-under-par 70 in his second round left the 39-year-old five shots behind leaders Matthew Fitzpatrick and Soren Kjeldsen at the halfway stage on his home course, but Poulter is certain that he will put the pressure on the players above him.
"I'm on my home course where I know it very well," he told Sky Sports News. "Time to press Saturday, Sunday. I know what I have to do.
"There's nothing else I can do apart from press now. Five back, but five is very achievable on this course. The way I know the greens."
Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell sits one shot ahead of Poulter after the second round.
