Lee Westwood has completed a round of 60 to lead the Thailand Golf Championship after the first round of the tournament.
The world number three hit ten birdies and an eagle to lead the tournament by five shots and beat the lowest round of his career by a shot.
Westwood's round equals the lowest ever score recorded on the Asian tour but the Englishman was disappointed he could not break the record.
"I came close but not close enough. I messed it up with a few pars," Westwood told Sky Sports News.
"I missed on 11 from about 10 feet, left it short, and at 14 I left it short in the middle but you can't shoot 60 without making a few 15-20 footers and I did that today so no complaints."
The nearest challenger to Westwood's lead in the first round was John Daly, who shot a bogey-free 65 in Chonburi.
