Thomas Bjorn storms into lead at Wentworth

Denmark's Thomas Bjorn records a first-round 62 to open up a two-shot lead at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

Thomas Bjorn has recorded eight birdies and an eagle to open up a two-shot lead after the first round of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The world number 32 took advantage of the favourable conditions in the morning to shoot 10-under-par to give him an early advantage over closest challenger Shane Lowry.

Spain's Rafa Cabrera-Bello reached the clubhouse on seven-under-par, while world number 681 Gary Stal moved himself into contention on six-under.

England's Anthony Wall was one of three players a shot further adrift, with Henrik Stenson, Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer all reaching the end of the first day's play six shots off the lead.
