Coetzee managed to claim a birdie to tie the scores up at 13-under par, following what had been a back-and-forth final day of play.
With the 18th hole having to be played again, Olesen's par ensured that it was Coetzee who came out on top to claim his third European Tour title in dramatic style.
Speaking after his triumph, the 28-year-old told reporters: "I'm just happy the job is done, it was a long day. Credit to Thorbjorn for the way he played. I felt like I putted unbelievably well this week. On the par fives you have to have good drives and make good second shots."
Coetzee has previously tasted success at the Joburg Open in 2014 and also at the Tshwane Open earlier this year.
