Kristoffer Broberg has clinched the BMW Masters title by defeating Patrick Reed in a playoff in the tournament in Shanghai.
The Swede began the final round two shots off the pace of leader Thongchai Jaidee, but the 29-year-old made solid progress as he birdied four of the opening eight holes.

However, Broberg found difficulty as he bogeyed the ninth to bring him back into the pack. He managed to compose himself on the back nine to record another birdie on the 14th to card a round of four-under to finish on 17-under for the tournament.
Reed began the day on 12-under, and like Broberg had success in the early stages of his round, notching birdies on three of the opening seven holes before a bogey on the eighth halted his charge.
A birdie then an eagle on the 15th brought him level with the Swede, while the American forged ahead with another birdie on the 16th. However, an error on the 17th pulled him back level and he was only able to par the final hole to set up a playoff.
Both men managed to reach the green with a chance of a birdie putt, but Reed missed his shot to allow Broberg the chance to win. The Swede stayed calm to hole a 12-foot putt to claim his first European title.
