World number 10 Hideki Matsuyama has become the first Japanese player to win a World Golf Championship title after triumphing at the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai.
Matsuyama posted six birdies on his way to a six-under 66 at Sheshan International, which saw him extend his overnight cushion to ease to a seven-shot victory during a dominant performance.
Henrik Stenson and Daniel Berger shared second position, while Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, who was six shots off the lead after the second round of action, ended the week tied in fourth position with Bill Haas after carding a 66.
Scotland's defending champion Russell Knox struggled to a closing 74 to end tied-ninth with Spaniard Sergio Garcia, while Rickie Fowler shared sixth position with Ross Fischer and Francesco Molinari.
Matsuyama's victory, which included 29 birdies, could see the 24-year-old rise into sixth position in the world rankings.
