Alex Noren wins European Masters for second time

Sweden's Alex Noren wins the European Masters for the second time after overcoming Scott Hend in a playoff at Crans-sur-Sierre.

Alex Noren has defeated Scott Hend in a playoff to win the European Masters for the second time in his career.

The pair finished on 17-under-par after four rounds, leading to a tie-break to determine the winner at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland.

Noren, who clawed a share of the lead despite dropping two shots in the final round, birdied the first par-four extra hole to end Hend's hopes.

Ryder Cup wildcard pick Lee Westwood carded a round of 63 to finish in fourth place, meanwhile, two shots behind English compatriot Andrew Johnston in third.

There was less joy for defending champion Danny Willett, who ended in a six-way tie for 12th after making a slow start to Sunday's session by bogeying the first two holes.
