Rory McIlroy carded an opening round of 63 at the Honda Classic to take the lead on day one of the competition in Florida.
The Northern Irishman was in fine form on the greens as he picked up his first birdie with a 27-foot putt on the second hole before clicking through the gears as the round progressed.
McIlroy ended the day strongly with three birdies in a row to complete an impressive display and earn himself a one-shot lead.
American Russell Henley led the chasing pack with a bogey-free round of 64 to finish the day on six-under-par.
Rory Sabbatini and William McGirt hit 65s on day one to sit in a tie for third place alongside Welshman Jamie Donaldson.
