Adam Scott has held off a late challenge from Gary Woodland and Tiger Woods to claim his 10th PGA career title tonight, with victory at The Barclays championship in New Jersey.
Scott was chased by a whole host of players in a wide-open final day, but held his nerve with a round of 66 to finish one shot clear of Graham DeLaet, Justin Rose, Woodland and Woods, who all had to settle for a share of second place.
Woods had his challenge hampered when he suffered a back spasm during a drive at the 13th hole, but the American still battled on to birdie at 16 and 17.
Rose had perhaps the best opportunity to force a play-off in the opening tournament of the FedExCup Playoffs, but finished his round with a bogey at 18th to buckle at the crucial moment.
Woodland still had a chance to stay in touch with a putt from 10 feet for birdie at the 18th, but fired wide as Scott claimed an unlikely victory by a single shot.
