Keegan Bradley, Ken Duke and Charles Howell III have a share of the lead at the Valspar Championship after the first round.
All three carded four-under-par 67 rounds, with Bradley shooting five birdies and Duke and Howell recording four birdies each at Palm Harbor in Florida.
Chesson Hadley is the closest challenger to the trio as he sits one shot off the pace after shooting five birdies and dropping shots on the third and sixth holes.
World number one Jordan Spieth is the defending champion, but he had a difficult round as he carded a solitary birdie and suffered six bogeys to finish the day with a five-over-par 76.
The two-time Major winner is tied-117th in the field.
