Jon Curran fires six-under round to earn share of lead at Byron Nelson Championship

Jon Curran earns a share of the lead at the Byron Nelson Championship by firing a six-under round of 63 to finish day two on nine-under for the competition.

Jon Curran has fired a round of six-under to take a share of the lead after day two of the Byron Nelson Championship.

The 28-year-old started the day on three under and had a tough start to his round as he bogeyed the first hole. However, he responded strongly to birdie eight of the next 17 holes to record a round of 63 and leave him on nine-under for the tournament.

Jimmy Walker fired a three-under round of 66 to join Curran in the lead as he hit five birdies, but was held back by two bogeys on the back nine.

Meanwhile, Steven Bowditch maintained his strong performance from day one to finish level with Walker and Curran at the end of the round to leave him in a strong position heading into the third round.

Australia's Cameron Percy and America's Ryan Palmer are one shot off the pace, while Hunter Mahan and Jordan Spieth are also in contention at seven-under and six-under respectively.
