Ross Fisher has recorded an opening-round 68 to hold a share of the lead at the Nedbank Challenge.
The Englishman hit five birdies to gain a one-shot advantage over the rest of the field alongside Felipe Aguilar and Wang Jeunghun.
As many as 10 players sit in a tie for fourth position, including Chris Wood and Swedish pair Henrik Stenson and Alex Noren, while home favourite Branden Grace is also in contention.
Only 20 players finished under par on Thursday, but English duo Andy Sullivan and Matthew Southgate sit just four shots adrift of the three leaders.
However, Masters champion Danny Willett endured another disappointing day as he carded a three-over-par round of 75 to sit in 47th place.
