Retief Goosen has extended his lead at the Northern Trust Open following a third-round 69 at Rivera Country Club.
The 46-year-old, who has set the pace since carding a first-round 66, had looked poised to run away with the tournament after reaching the turn in three-under par.
However, the South African veteran had a mixed back nine with four more birdies, but five bogeys to finish the day at eight-under par, two clear of Canadian Graham DeLaet.
Sang-Moon Bae moved into a tie for third after a round of 66, while Sergio Garcia joined the Korean on five under after shooting 68 for his 18 holes.
First round joint-leader Vijay Singh fought back into contention after carding a 69. The Fijian is four strokes behind Goosen.
