Matt Kuchar holds a one-shot lead going into the final two days of the Humana Challenge after carding a second-round 64 in California.
The American started well on the PGA West Nicklaus Course, picking up two birdies and an eagle on the front nine to reach the turn in 33.
Kuchar held his form over the final nine holes, picking up a further five shots to hold a one-stroke advantage over Michael Putnam and Bill Haas going into the weekend.
However, the best round of the day came from fellow American Ryan Palmer, who carded an 11-under-par 61 on the Nicklaus course despite bogeying two of his opening three holes.
Palmer was one-under through 11 holes, but produced a staggering finish with two eagles and five birdies to move within three shots of the lead at the halfway point of the tournament.
