Rory McIlroy's defence of the Race to Dubai remains intact after he ended round one of the DP World Tour Championship tied sixth on four-under-par.
The Northern Irishman, who is currently world number two, has a slight lead in the Race to Dubai, but Danny Willett and Justin Rose are not far behind.
McIlroy carded five birdies and dropped a shot on the 10th hole, leaving him two shots behind leader Marcus Fraser, who hit a first-round 66.
Ian Poulter and Martin Kaymer share the lead with Fraser, while Willett matched McIlroy's round, which keeps him in contention for the title.
Rose's round was not as positive as his Race to Dubai competitors as he suffered five bogeys overall, but his six birdies made sure that he finished the day one-under-par.
The Englishman is five shots off the pace.
