Paul Lawrie extends lead ahead of final Qatar Masters round

Paul Lawrie battles windy conditions to post a third-round 70 and extend his lead at the top of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters leaderboard to two shots.

Scotland's Paul Lawrie will take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters after posting a two-under-par round of 70 in windy conditions on day three in Doha.

Lawrie, who is chasing an unprecedented third win in the event, made 13 straight pars to start his round before birdieing two of the final five holes to go clear at the top of the leaderboard.

The 47-year-old has made just two bogeys in the first three rounds to sit at 13-under and lead defending champion Branden Grace and Denmark's Thorbjorn Olesen by two shots.

England's Tommy Fleetwood and Rafael Cabrera-Bello of Spain are a shot further back on 10-under.
