Justin Rose has found himself three shots off the pace at the end of play on day one of the Scottish Open.
The defending champion shot a four-under-par 66 at Gullane to slip behind Thorbjorn Olesen.
Olesen's seven birdies were enough to lift him into an early lead, with Englishman Daniel Brooks closest behind on six-under.
Seven players sit level with Rose, in a chasing pack which includes Rickie Fowler, Matt Kuchar and Graeme McDowell on four-under.
Five-time Major winner Phil Mickelson could only muster one-under-par, meanwhile, to find himself off the pace somewhat heading into the second day.
