Marc Warren eagle seals place in Paul Lawrie Matchplay semis

Marc Warren wins a playoff with a walk-off eagle, while England David Howell reaches the semi-finals of the Paul Lawrie Matchplay with a comfortable win over Chris Wood.

Marc Warren sealed his place in the semi-finals of the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Matchplay at Murcar Links Golf Club after a dramatic walk-off eagle at the first playoff hole.

Warren, who reached the last eight with a 3&1 win over Nicolas Colsaerts, trailed early on against Tyrrell Hatton before forging a lead in the dying stages.

Hatton then forced a playoff with a chip-in at the 18th, but Warren went one better with an eagle at the first playoff hole to seal his place in the last four.

David Howell is also into the last four after following up his third-round win over Scotland's Chris Doak by comfortably beating Chris Wood 5&4.

Robert Karlsson was level with Richie Ramsay down the home stretch of their quarter-final, but a late birdie at the 16th helped the Swede to a second win of the day, after beating fellow countryman Johan Carlsson in the third round.

Thailand's Kiradech Apribarnrat is also into the semi-finals after winning three of the final five holes on his way to a 2&1 victory over Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey.
